Privacy Policy
JAXIAN Pty Ltd respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we handle it and the choices available to you.
About JAXIAN
JAXIAN Pty Ltd (ABN 52 701 675 470) provides apartment intercom, access, parcel delivery, resident communication and building-management technology. In this policy, “JAXIAN”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to JAXIAN Pty Ltd.
Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with us and which JAXIAN services your building uses. It may include:
- your name, apartment or building, phone number, email address and WhatsApp number;
- enquiries, support requests, proposals and business contact details;
- visitor, contractor, delivery, parcel-locker, booking and parking information;
- access credentials and records of access events, such as the door, date and time;
- notices, maintenance requests, responses and emergency check-in information;
- technical information such as device, browser, IP address and service logs; and
- other information you, your building or an authorised building representative provides to us.
Please avoid including sensitive personal information in an enquiry unless it is necessary.
How we collect information
We may collect information directly from you, through our website and JAXIAN services, through WhatsApp communications, or from an authorised strata, building, property or facilities manager. We may also receive technical and access information from connected building systems.
Why we use information
We use personal information to respond to enquiries; provide demonstrations, trials, proposals and support; operate and secure JAXIAN services; connect visitors, deliveries and residents; manage authorised building access and resident services; communicate notices and emergency messages; investigate faults or misuse; meet legal obligations; and improve the reliability and usability of our services.
We do not sell personal information.
Who we disclose information to
We may disclose information where reasonably required to the building, strata or property representatives authorised to manage the relevant property; installers and support providers; and technology providers that help us host, communicate, secure and operate our services. These may include providers of cloud hosting, email, website forms, WhatsApp messaging and connected access-control systems.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect a person’s safety, or to investigate suspected unlawful activity. We do not disclose information for unrelated third-party advertising.
Overseas processing
Some technology providers we use may store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other locations in which their infrastructure or support teams operate. The countries involved can change as providers update their services. We take reasonable steps when selecting and managing providers and limit the information shared to what is required for the service.
Security and retention
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. No internet-connected system can be guaranteed completely secure.
We keep information only for as long as it is reasonably needed for the purpose for which it was collected, to provide the service, maintain appropriate operational and security records, resolve disputes, or meet legal and contractual requirements. We then delete or de-identify it where reasonably practicable.
Access and correction
You may ask to access personal information we hold about you or request that inaccurate information be corrected. We may need to verify your identity and, where the information is controlled by your building, coordinate the request with its authorised representative. Contact us using the details below.
Privacy enquiries and complaints
Contact us at hello@jaxian.com or by telephone on 0450 265 900. Please describe your enquiry or complaint and provide enough information for us to investigate it. We will acknowledge and respond within a reasonable period.
If you are not satisfied with our response and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The current version will be published on this page with its effective date.
